Alice Ann Huisenga, 81, of Arcadia, died Monday, March 10, 2014.

Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Wheatland Presbyterian Church, five miles west of Breda, with the Rev. Don Gibson presiding. A celebration of Alice Ann's life will be held in the church basement immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Nathan Huisenga Foundation at 175 Highland Drive, Chaska, Minn. 55318.

Born Sept. 24, 1932, at Sac County, Iowa, Alice Ann was a daughter of George and Emma (Hall) Irwin. She graduated from Sac City High School. She married Merlin Huisenga on May 21, 1950, in Sac City. Alice Ann and Merlin farmed together until his death in 1980. Alice continued to farm in Wheatland Township in Carroll County until her death. She was an active member of the Wheatland Presbyterian Church. Alice Ann enjoyed traveling with family around the world.

She is survived by her sons: Dannie (Donna) Huisenga, Illinois; Garrie Huisenga, Minnesota; and Dennie (Lori) Huisenga, Minnesota; her daughters Vickie Huisenga (Joel Cook), Oregon; Julie (Tom) Dozier, Churdan; Peggie Huisenga-Halbur, Louisiana; Laurie (Mike) Kuhn, Indiana; and Marie Kearney (Frank Krasovec), North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her sister Mary Rahn, Sac City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Huisenga; and grandsons Bryan Halbur and Nathan Huisenga.
