Betty Bielenberg, 75, died Thursday morning, Oct. 17, at Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Coon Rapids. Pastor Mark Heilman will officiate. Burial will be at Willow Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Marie, daughter of Rudolf and Anna (Carstens) Bielenberg, was born Dec. 7, 1937, at Carroll, Iowa. She grew up in the Coon Rapids area and graduated from
Bayard High School. Betty earned her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in home economics. She taught at Berea College in Berea, Ky., for a number of years before returning to Iowa in 1979.
Betty lived in Ames and worked in the Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education for the Iowa Department of Education. She travelled the state working as a consultant for vocational-education programs. After 22 years she retired in 2002.
Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church near Coon Rapids as a youth, and Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames while living there. She was also a member of the Iowa State Alumni Association.
When Betty's health began to fail she became a resident of the Israel Hospice House in Ames.
Betty is survived by her two children Heidi Armstrong Khoury and husband Nizar Khoury of Denver, CO and Scott Armstrong of Lexington, KY; two grandchildren Eve Armstrong and Maya Khoury; sister Mary Bielenberg Hill of Springfield, MO; brother Don Bielenberg and wife Sheryl of Scranton; sister in law Janice Bielenberg of Coon Rapids; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and brother Doyle Bielenberg.
