Colleen Wright, 76, of Sac City, Iowa, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Funeral was Monday, April 22, at First Christian Church in Sac City, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes.

The Rev. Kevin Freese officiated, with burial at Cory Grove Cemetery, Sac City.

Born Sept. 30, 1936, in Ida County, Colleen Vivian Wright was a daughter of Frank and Vivian (Rice) West. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1954, then attended beauty school.

On May 15, 1955, Colleen married Ferman Stout. They were blessed with four daughters.

The family lived in Carnarvon, Carroll, Sac City and Fort Dodge. They were later divorced, and Colleen made her home in Omaha, Neb., for four years.

In 1975, she married Donald Wright in Sac City. One son, Bruce, was born to this union. Donald died April 4, 2003, following a lengthy illness.

Colleen worked at Nobles, Super Value, and was a cook at Park View Care Center for over 20 years.

A member of the First Christian Church in Sac City, Colleen enjoyed volunteering, traveling, musicals, reading and puzzles. She liked to spend time with her family and also had fun in the Red Hat Society. She collected chickens and chicken items. Her family blessed her life with love and happiness.

Survivors include four daughters, Janet Johnson of Ozark, Mo., Karen (Richard) Petersen of Holstein, Linda (Tim) Fagan of Lanesboro, and Shirley (Bruce) Trulsen of Carroll; four grandchildren, James Stout of Cedar Rapids, Jason (Melonie) Petersen of Ida Grove, Jared (Saffire) Petersen of Battle Creek, and Nichole Trulsen and fiancé Justin Birch of Carroll; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra (Charles) Miller of Sac City and Joy (Terry) Reis of Lake View; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

In addition to her husband, Colleen was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Wright; her parents; a brother, Darrell West; and a son-in-law, Randy Johnson.
