Danny Wollesen, 77, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, April 23, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Wall Lake.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake. Burial will be at Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake.

Daniel Harold Wollesen was born Aug. 5, 1936, to Harold and Ann (Bohms) Wollesen in Dixon, Ill. He grew up in Wall Lake and attended all his primary education there. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake, where he was a lifelong member and also served as an elder.

He met the love of his life in Grace Margaret Freese, and they were married June 18, 1954, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake. This union was blessed with two children: Terri and Timothy. Danny was an extremely hard worker and provided for his family by farming and working construction, he was a foreman at Boyer Valley, and he was owner and operator of Wollesen Trucking. He retired in 2012. He was active in church activities and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was also there to support his grandson's racing.

Danny is survived by his wife Grace; daughter Terri Boeckman of Wall Lake, Iowa, and son Tim (Dawn) Wollesen of Olathe, Kan.; grandchildren: Heather Nissen (friend Chris Wagner) of Sac City, Iowa, Andrew (Brook) Boeckman of Sac City, Colton Wollesen of Olathe; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Ethan, and Haylee Nissen, and Brooklyn, Brianna, Brody, Evan and Brynn Boeckman; sisters: LaDonna Shannon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kathleen Hunt of Denison, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Ralph (Linda) Freese, and Bobby (Wanda) Freese; sisters-in-law: Katie (Pete) Lamaak, Pearl (Don) Kelly, Clara Freese, Eula Mae Freese, and Shirley Freese; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ann Wollesen; sister Marilyn (Harvey) Peters; grandparents William and Pauline Wollesen, and Ed and Ella Bohms; brothers-in-law Harvey Freese, Lester (Darlene) Freese, Virgil Freese, Leonard Freese, Roger Hunt; and sister-in-law Delores (Robert) Bartlett.
