Darwin Wesley Teague, 77, of Carroll, died Tuesday, Aug, 20, 2013, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at First United Methodist Church in Carroll with the Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday when visitation will resume. Organist for the service will be Mary Ross. Soloist will be Michelle Caltrider singing "Amazing Grace" and "Just As I Am," and the congregation will sing "How Great Thou Art." A reception and time to share memories will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

An honor guard will be formed at the church by the Iowa State Patrol. Casket bearers will be Darwin's grandchildren.

Burial will be at Carroll City Cemetery.

Born July 8, 1936, in Carroll, Iowa, he was a son of Edwin and Lenore (Liechti) Teague. He grew up on his family's farm east of Arcadia and attended country school as a boy. His family moved to a farm east of Glidden when he was in high school. Darwin graduated from Carroll High School in 1954. Following high school he had several jobs before going to work for Great Plains Gas and became district manager.

He married Kay Lux on June 22, 1957, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll. In 1977 he started Midwest Insulation with his brother-in-law Lyle Rood and operated the business until his retirement in 2002. Darwin was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carroll. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading Louie L'Amour western novels, riding horses and working in his wood shop building bird houses and children's toys. He could fix anything that needed to be fixed. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Darwin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay Elizabeth; two daughters: Julie Ann Cassel of North Manchester, Ind., and Laura Lynn Kasperbauer and her husband Rick of Marco Island, Fla.; two sons: Tracy Lee Teague and his wife Teresa of Algona, Iowa, and Troy Jay Teague and his wife Julie of Chandler, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother Myron Teague of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; sisters-in-law: Darlene Teague of Otho, Iowa, and Barbara Teague of Columbia, Mo.; a brother-in-law Jerry Lux and his wife Mary Pearl of Carroll; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Bennett of Carroll, Ginger Reis and her husband Larry of Greenfield, Iowa, Sherry Webber and her husband Jack of Carroll, Barbara Rood and her husband Lyle of Templeton, and Charlene Lux of Breda, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Clayton and Roger; two brothers-in-law: Bob Lux and John Bennett; and a sister-in-law Jolene Pick and her husband Jerry.
