David Frank Menchaca, 45, of Kennedale, Texas, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes at his home on Friday, March 21, 2014.

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, at All Saints Catholic Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Rosary will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Chapel at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Born Dec. 6, 1968, in Chula Vista, Calif., he was a son of Frank and Sandra (Smart) Menchaca. David's family moved in 1978 to Carroll where grew up and graduated from Carroll High School in 1986. He moved back to Texas following his high school graduation owned and operated a vehicle recovery service. David married Sharon (Hopp) Menchaca on June 3, 1990 in Alvarado, Texas, and to this union, two sons were born. He enjoyed building and racing cars and doing artwork. Spending time with his family was a priority. He was always doing things for others to help them out any time they needed it. He was extremely caring and full of life. There was never a dull moment when David was around. He always had a smile for everyone.

David is survived by his wife Sharon Menchaca of Kennedale, Texas; two sons: Andrew Menchaca and Nicolas Menchaca at home; his father Frank Menchaca of Arlington, Texas; a sister Angela (Menchaca) Alkilani and her husband Mohamed and their two children, Savannah and Nabil of Arlington, Texas; a brother Christopher Bickel and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Brianna of Oklahoma; a sister Leticia Menchaca and her son Gabriel of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother Matthew Menchaca of Fort Worth, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

David was preceded in his death by his mother, Sandra (Smart) Menchaca; his paternal grandparents: Ramona and Leonard Menchaca, his maternal grandparents: Walter and Helen Smart, two uncles: Ricardo and Raymond Menchaca; and an aunt Catherine Menchaca.
