Dennis Broich, 56, of Westside, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines from injuries suffered in a car accident on Nov. 18.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Rev. Robert Gralapp will preside at the services.

Casket bearers will be Tom Bruch, Jim Wessling, Robert Leiting, Steve Wessling, Rick Onken, John Leiting and Brian Leiting.

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.

Dennis Frank, son of Frank and Loretta (Steffes) Broich, was born March 5, 1957, at Carroll, Iowa. The family lived in Arcadia, and he graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll in 1975.

Denny worked for Winnebago in Forest City for a time and then moved briefly to California. Upon his return to Iowa, Denny work for the railroad for four years. He then worked for AGP in Manning for 26 years. Denny loved to fish and hunt, especially pheasant, and he lived a private, simple life.

Denny is survived by five sisters: Bonnie Onken of Lidderdale; Dorothy Hoffman of Lynchburg, Va.; Rita and her husband Marvin Bruch of Manning; Phyllis and her husband George Wessling of Garner; and Chris and her husband Terry Assman of Omaha, Neb.; brother-in-law Paul Wessling of Anita; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Denny in death were his parents; siblings: Marion, in infancy; Jane Wessling; Esther and her husband Loren Leiting and Richard Broich; and brothers-in-law George Hoffman and Vernal Onken.
