Earl A. Pottebaum, 82, of Mitchellville, Iowa, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Mitchell Village Care Center.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, 1401 First Avenue South in Altoona, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 1 p.m.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Earl Anthony Pottebaum, 82, was born May 8, 1931, in Lidderdale, Iowa, a son of John and Coletta (Timmerman) Pottebaum.
Earl was raised in Carroll, Iowa, until he was drafted into the Army to serve in the Korean War. He retired from MTA after 20 years of service.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Caroline Pottebaum; children, Theresa (Rich), Mary Jo (Darrin) and Anthony (Rowena); grandchildren, Josh, Ben and Andrew; four brothers; one sister; other loving relatives and many special friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas; two brothers; and one sister.
