Evelyn G. Lovik Weston Wegman, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at First United Methodist Church in Ankeny.
Evelyn was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Forest City, Iowa, on the family farm east of town. She was the oldest of six children. She had two brothers, Harold and Gilman, and triplet sisters, Darlene, Dollie and Donna. Evelyn met George Weston in Salt Lake City when she roomed in the same building as his sister. They married on June 12, 1947. They lived in Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and North Dakota before settling in Thor, where they lived for 22years. They had three daughters: Linda Anderson, New Orleans; Vickie Reinier, Mitchellville; and Kathy Dickinson (Greg), Ankeny. George died in 1975. Evelyn later met Ernest Wegman at a dance at the Bohemian Hall in Fort Dodge. They were married in 1978 and lived in Carroll. Ernie died in 2005.She may never have celebrated a 50th anniversary, but she was proud of her two silver anniversary celebrations. In 2011 Evelyn moved to an assisted-living center in Pleasant Hill.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters and their families; her three daughters; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cora Lovik; her first husband George and her second husband Ernie; and her son-in-law David Reinier.
Memorials will be donated to the public libraries at Humboldt and Carroll.
