Felicisima Parado, 99, of Sugarland, Texas, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at First Colony Care Center in Sugarland, surrounded by her children.

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugarland. Celebrant will be Father Drew Woods.

Lectors will be Neal Molitor, Michelle Quinagon, Foti Kallergis, and Riston Dela Cerna. Acolyte will be Alexander Conforti. Eucharistic ministers will be Celna Conforti and Shirley Molitor. Gift bearers will be Felicisima Parado’s son, Jon Parado, and her sons-in-laws, Jose Quinagon, Alexander Conforti, Dennis Molitor, Robert Medrano and Richard Kuylen.

There will be a family viewing beginning at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft, Houston, Texas, before moving her to Diving Mercy Chapel for the rosary and prayer service at 6 p.m.

Following the requiem Mass, burial will be Tuesday at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickenson, Texas.

Born May 7, 1913, in Alcala, Cagayan in the northern province of the Philippines, Felicisima was a daughter of Emilio Almazan and Gertrudis (Singson) Almazan.

Felicisima married Froilan Parado at the Alcala Catholic Church on Dec. 22, 1937. Together they raised eight children in Manila, Philippines before immigrating to the United States in 1975.

Felicisima was a devout Catholic and spent the greater part of her day praying her rosary and novenas.

In her younger years, she enjoyed boating, swimming, dancing and horse-back riding. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling extensively in Europe, Africa, South America, Australia, Canada and the U.S., where she met with friends and relatives from the Philippines.

At home, she enjoyed listening to music, reading, exercising, and baby-sitting for grandchildren. She loved shopping and going out to eat, but more than anything, she took pride in her children’s successes and accomplishments.

Felicisima is survived by her sister, Liberata Gorospe,  her children: Dr. Gloria (Jose) Quinagon, Celna (Alexander) Conforti, Linaflor Parado, Shirley (Dennis) Molitor, Cherry (Robert) Medrano, Charito (Richard) Kuylen, and Froilan Jon Parado; all of Sugarland, Texas except Shirley and Dennis Molitor from Carroll, Iowa; 12 grandchildren: Svetlana (Nicolas) Thillier, Michelle Quinagon, Cherylle (Daren) Hicks, Jamaimah (Jaime) Lopez, and Valerie Quinagon, Marc (Ilka) Molitor, Neal (Tracy) Molitor, Dean Molitor, Myrna (Foti) Kallergis, Geoffrey Sloan, Ryan Kuylen and Robin Kuylen; 14 great-grandchildren: Laurene Thillier, Anais Thillier, Raizel Dela Cerna, Riston Dela Cerna, Ransley Dela Cerna, Melina Hicks, Charlize Lopez, Tyler Lopez, Haven Lopez, Jared Olivar, Schuyler Olivar, Cassiopeia Quinagon, Aristos Kallergis, and Noah Molitor; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Froilan, in 1988; parents; parents-in-law; her two sisters and their spouses; a daughter; and an infant son.
