Henry Rudolph, son of Joseph V. and Anna (Drees) Schneider, was born Oct. 9, 1919, at Roselle, Iowa. He grew up on the farm and attended rural school. He worked with his father on the farm after completing his schooling. The family moved to Missouri when he was a teenager, however, Henry moved back to Carroll County after a couple of years. He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) for two winters at Springbrook Park and near Ute.

On Jan. 21, 1941, Henry married Elma Rohe at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. They made their home on Elma's family farm outside Templeton and were the parents of one son. Henry was a farmer, raising crops, milk cows, stock cows and steers over the years. His family remembers his stock cows as his pride and joy. Henry was self-taught in many areas, building his own home and teaching his grandchildren and others various life skills. He was generous with his knowledge and full of patience.

Henry served on many board of directors including a telephone company, school board, Halbur Co-op and the Carroll County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS). He was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish in Templeton and the Holy Name Men's Society. Henry and his wife enjoyed many years of playing cards with neighbors and friends.

Henry's wife, Elma, died in February 2011. Henry stayed in their home on the farm until October 2013 when he became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home.

Henry is survived by his son, Gerald (Lavonne) Schneider of Carroll; six grandchildren: Jim (Tami) Schneider of Dallas, Texas; June Nunn of Winter Park, Fla.; Janet (James) Kischer of Omaha, Neb.; Ron (Eldiza) Schneider of Manning; Dean (Jennifer) Schneider of Manning; and Steve (Crystal) Schneider of Carroll; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Andrew (Rosalyn) Schneider of St. Charles, Mo.; Paul Schneider of Missouri; and Arthur (Frieda) Schneider of Warrenton, Mo.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
