Jack Fox, 89, of Templeton, died early Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2013, at the Friendship Home in Audubon.

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton. The celebrant will be Father Steven Brodersen. Mass servers will be Mitchell and Anna Langel. Music will be by Jeanne Kerkhoff and the Sacred Heart men's choir. Lector will be Scott Sibbel. Gift bearers will be Jack's grandchildren Alex, Taylor and Ryan Fox, and Brock and Brett Muhlbauer. Casket bearers will be Daryl Klocke, Gary Niehaus, Kevin Wieland, Scott Halbur, Russ Bruhn and Dennis Carter. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Templeton.

Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. by the Templeton Knights of Columbus, and a Christian wake service by Sacred Heart Parish at 6 p.m. The casket will be moved to Sacred Heart Church in Templeton at 9 a.m. Thursday, when visitation will resume.

A son of William "Bay" and Florence (Reicher) Fox, Jack William was born June 8, 1924, at Templeton, Iowa. Jack attended Sacred Heart School in Templeton and graduated with the Class of 1941. He worked as a meat cutter for Safeway Stores, and following the passing of his father became engaged in the family farm operation. Jack married Annabelle Klocke on Sept. 4, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dedham. Following their marriage the couple made their home on the Fox family farm south of Templeton where Jack was a grain and livestock farmer.

He enjoyed golfing and trips to the Corner Station in Templeton for coffee and socializing. Jack had a devotion to his faith, his family; and his greatest joy his grandchildren. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Templeton and the Templeton Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife Annabelle of Templeton; his children: Curt Fox and wife Shelli of Templeton, Carla Muhlbauer and husband Chris of Ankeny, and Craig Fox of Manning; five grandchildren: Alex, Taylor and Ryan Fox, and Brock and Brett Muhlbauer; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (William) Schon of Glidden, Lavina Kieser of Illinois, Ron (Linda) Klocke of Florida, Louise Klocke of Carroll and Leona Klocke of Coon Rapids; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jeanne Niehaus; and his brother, Jerry Fox.
