Jean C. Nelson, 81, of Alta, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home of Spencer.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Alta with the Rev. Don E. Rothweiler officiating.
Burial will be at Scandinavian Cemetery of Alta. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Alta.

Jean Carol Warme Nelson was born June 25, 1931, in Alta to Eric J. and Edith R. Lindberg Warme. She received her education at Fairview Country School near Alta.
Jean married Arnold "Bub" Nelson on Jan. 29, 1950, in a little chapel north of Alta.
They made their home in Alta and became parents of four sons. Jean and Bub owned and operated Nelson and Son Garage until 1965. In 1971 they opened Nelson Super Service until 1978.
Jean was a homemaker, worked many part-time jobs and loved taking care of children at the Gingerbread House. Jean adored her grandchildren, loved working in the garden, listening to music and reading. Jean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta where she was active in Ladies Aid, Firette, and did a heck of a job on the "bucket brigade."
Jean is survived by sister Alice Elmer of St. George, Utah; son Bruce (Linda) Nelson of Glidden; daughter-in-law Gigi Nelson of Alta; son James "Harv" (Barb) Nelson of Spencer, son Dan "Booner" (Susan) Nelson of Spencer; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Peterson, brother-in-law Emmett Peterson, brother Dale Warme, sister-in-law Adele Warme, brother-in-law Don Elmer, and son David Nelson.
