Jeff Gerard Riesberg, 47, of Audubon, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his home.

Mass of the Christian burial, conducted by Father Steven Brodersen, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur, Iowa. Burial will be at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Halbur. Honorary casket bearers will the Friendship Home employees and residents. Casket bearers will be Brandon Wiederien, Levi Riesberg, Andrew Ocker, Brett Willenborg, Cody Willenborg, Bailee Riesberg and Drew Sellner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon and beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Jeff, son of Harold and Illa Mae Reis Riesberg, was born July 9, 1966, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.

Jeff was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. He attended St. Augustine Parochial School in Halbur, then graduated from the Carroll High School with the Class of 1985. Jeff was employed in general maintenance in Carroll and Kansas City, Mo., before coming to Audubon, where he was maintenance director at the Friendship Home for the past five years. Jeff enjoyed all the employees at Friendship Home but especially enjoyed all the residents.

Jeff was a member of the Audubon Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed camping, playing corn bags, and watching the "Dr. Who" program on TV on Saturday nights. Jeff also loved to ride his motorcycle. His motto was "Just Laugh."

Survivors include his fiancée Donna Parrish of Audubon, Iowa; his mother Illa Mae Riesberg of Halbur, Iowa; his brothers and sisters: Becky and husband Bill Ocker of Lincoln, Neb.,; Barb and husband Steve Willenborg of Manning, Iowa; Janet and husband Lee Wiederien of Des Moines, Iowa; Joe and wife Kim Riesberg of Pocatello, Idaho; Jay and wife Carrie Riesberg of Carroll, Iowa; his nieces and nephews: Andrew and wife Holly Ocker; Jessie and McKenzie Ocker; Brett, Cody, Austin and Zach Willenborg; Nicole and husband Drew Sellner; Brandon Wiederien; Bailee Riesberg; Levi and Justin Riesberg; Kylie Swinney; Donna's brothers and sisters: DeLynne Clausen of Omaha, Neb.; Bev and husband Don Nepple of Carroll; Bill and wife Jennifer Wiederien of Carroll; Ron and wife Kay Wiederien of Wichita, Kan.; Leo and wife Janet Wiederien of Des Moines; Donna's children: Jennifer Nees and Keith Davis both of Newington, Conn.; Jason and wife Amie Nees of Lee's Summit, Mo.; Brad and wife Heather Nees of Fort Campbell, Ky.; four grandsons; two granddaughters; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father Harold Riesberg; his brother Jack Riesberg; his paternal grandparents Jack (John) and Carmalita Riesberg; his maternal grandparents Joe and Caroline Reis; other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
