Jim Van Meter, 64, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in the Lake City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.

Jimmy Francis Van Meter was born May 28, 1949, in Lake City, Iowa, to Fae "Roe" Van Meter and Anna (Millis) Van Meter. He worked as a truck driver for Brad Eslick of Dayton, Iowa.

Jimmy is survived by his sons James (Kelly) Van Meter of Auburn and Joey (Frankie) of Lake City; five grandchildren; brothers Lee (Pat) Van Meter of Lake City and Donald (Lucille) Van Meter of Morrilton, Ark.; sisters Janice Smith (Mark Schneider) of Glidden, Cindy Miller (Rockey Davis) of Lake City, and Fae (Gerald) Presley of Lytton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jamie, and sister Sherri Van Meter.
