Kenneth Sieve, 89, of Maple River, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.  Celebrant will be Father Timothy Johnson.  Music for the Mass will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit choir with John Wagner as soloist.  Lectors will be Olivia Sieve and Katie Schrad.  Gift bearers will be Joyce Sieve and Deb Wadsworth.  Eucharistic ministers will be Tom Kollasch and Vince and Lenora Gross.  Honorary casket bearers will be Jennifer Daniel, Sara Middendorf, Christy Schrad, Katie Schrad, Amanda Sieve, Olivia Sieve and Rebecca Sieve. Casket bearers will be Jeff Bruning, Brad Sieve, Todd Sieve, Nick Schrad, Mike Schrad and Ben Sieve. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John Cemetery in Arcadia.

Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian wake service at 6:30 p.m. by Holy Spirit Parish.

The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 8:30 a.m. Thursday when visitation will resume.

Born Jan. 12, 1923, in Carroll, Kenneth Henry Sieve a son of Joe and Elizabeth (Olberding) Sieve.  He grew up near Arcadia and attended St. Bernard Grade School, later graduating from St. Bernard High School with the Class of 1940. Following his schooling he helped his father farming. On Sept. 14, 1948, Ken married Delores “Dottie” Goetzinger at Holy Angels Church in Roselle. The couple made their home on the family farm near Arcadia where Ken was a grain and livestock farmer.  In 1978 Ken and Dottie moved to Maple River. In retirement they traveled extensively across the United States. Ken loved spending time with his family, enjoyed reading and was a talented woodworker.  He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll and past member of St. John Parish in Arcadia and St. Francis Parish in Maple River.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Delores “Dottie” Sieve of Maple River; his children: Randy (Joyce) Sieve of Stratford, Joan (Larry) Bruning of Carroll, Jane (Craig) Schrad of Arcadia, and Kevin Sieve and his fiancé Deb Wadsworth of Alleman; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his in-laws Vince (Max) Goetzinger of Roselle, Alma Brincks of Roselle and Agnes Goetzinger of Carroll; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane Sieve and Leslie Sieve; sisters, Rayneldis Goetzinger and Crescentia Luchtel and one sister in infancy.
