Kenneth J. Frank, 83, of Carroll, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence choir with Sherry Loughran as song leader. Mass servers will be Max Heithoff and Madie Bauer. Lectors will be Ken's granddaughters Kim Johnson and Brittany Kohrt. Gift bearers will be Ken's grandchildren Julie Miller, Kim Johnson, Jessica Tigges, Jennifer Hay, Tiffany Klehn, Brittany Kohrt, Janyce Majerus, Jill Potthoff, Joy Vonnahme and Abigail Frank. Eucharsitic ministers will be Barb Brauckman, Jean Knobbe and Ann Christiansen. Casket bearers will be Eric Hahn, Andrew Kohrt, John Klehn, Brad Vonnahme, Eric Johnson and Lonnie Miller. Honorary casket bearers will be members of SunnyBrook of Carroll staff: Bruce Boehm, Summer Mozena, Cully Magner, Beth Ann Schmidt, Reagan Schaal and Emilie Hanson. Burial will be at Carroll City Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian wake service by St. Lawrence Parish at 7 p.m.
The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9 a.m. Friday when visitation will resume.

Kenneth Joseph was born Oct. 18, 1929, in Coon Rapids, Iowa, a son of George and Gertrude (Brauckman) Frank. Ken graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1948. On July 14, 1953, Ken married Katherine Goetzinger at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. The couple resided at several Air Force bases in the United States and returned to Carroll in 1971.
Ken served in the U.S. Air Force from Oct. 2, 1950 to July 30, 1972. During that time he was involved in the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of master sergeant. After retirement from the military he delivered milk door to door for Bernholtz Locker and managed Pizza Hut in Carroll for 30 years before he retired. Ken was a member of St. Lawrence Parish. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his son and grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his children: Vicky (Gene) Tigges of Carroll, Cindy Hahn of Carroll, Annie (Jerry) Dentlinger of Glidden and Steve (Susie) Frank of Carroll; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marjorie Golay of Carroll and Rosemary (Ed) Wever of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Wilson (Tammy) Frank of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and his in-laws: Charlotte Frank of Harlan, Jim (Mary) Goetzinger of Darrien, Ill., and Judy (Clarence) Ziegmann of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Katherine, in 2006; a daughter, Julie, in infancy; and siblings George Frank, Harold Frank, Jerome Frank, Cleadith Hubbell, Marion Hilgenberg, Arlene Lumsden and Delores Duncan.
