Larry Robert Kerwood, 69, of League City, Texas, died at home on Aug. 2, 2012.  

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept.r 22, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Deacon Gary Schon officiating. Visitation will begin at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Carroll, he was a son of Donald and Mary (Cunningham) Kerwood.  Larry grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School in 1961.  

Following high school he earned a degree from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. He worked as database administrator in several locations and was most recently a consultant at Wal-Mart.  

He was married to Carol Alexander on June 30, 1990 in Tucson, Ariz. The couple lived Greensboro, N.C., for four years before moving to Texas. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Larry enjoyed watching his boys and later his grandchildren play basketball.

Larry is survived by his wife Carole Alexander of League City, Texas; three sons, Robert Kerwood of Marshalltown, Michael Alexander and his wife Kelly of Pasadena, Texas, and Matthew Kierpiec of League City, Texas; his grandchildren, Robert Kerwood Jr., Morgyn Lake, Joshua Eilander, Terami Kerwood, Amanda Eilander, Reagan Kerwood, Jonathan Kerwood, Mick Alexander and Delaney Alexander; great-grandson Emmitt Krough; a sister, Patricia Nedved and her husband Gerald of Garner; two brothers, Ronald Kerwood and his wife Ella Jean of Carroll and David Kerwood and his wife Joan of Boone.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Mary Kerwood and a daughter Melissa Slaughter.
