LINDA J. BLOODSWORTH
Funeral services for Linda J. Bloodsworth, 69, of Davenport, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Christ Family Church, 4601 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport.
Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens.

Linda died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at her home in Davenport, following an extended illness.
Linda was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Bayard, Iowa, a daughter of William and Audrey (Schaefer) Lee. She married John O. Bloodsworth in 1962 in Chicago. He preceded her in death Aug. 20, 2001.
Linda was co-owner of Q.C. Metallurgical Laboratory Inc. with her husband John since its founding in 1983. She participated in numerous professional organizations and was an active member of Lake Davenport and Quad-City Sailing clubs.
Linda was a civic leader serving on the Davenport City Council for six years, the Iowa Department of Economic Development Board for over six years, and the Small Business Development Corporation for five years. She championed the cause of the less fortunate and the underserved.
Linda was strong, independent and optimistic in life. She fought her cancer battle with courage, strength and hope, and without complaint. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, warm smile, positiveness, her great sense of humor and zest for life.
Memorials may be made to the Friends of Vanderveer or a scholarship fund to be awarded in her honor.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. “Jay” and Anne Bloodsworth, Folsom, Calif., Todd and Beth Bloodsworth, and Brian Bloodsworth, all of Davenport; her grandchildren, John III “Jake” Bloodsworth, Jackson Bloodsworth and Ellie Bloodsworth; her brother, Keith (Pat) Lee of Coon Rapids; her sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Lloyd of Carroll and Sharon Winker of Clayton, Okla.; and special family friends Andy and Belinda Robinson and their children, and Kris and Victoria Castelluccio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother-in-law, Bud Winker; and her parents.
