Luella Reis, 86, of Auburn, died early Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014, at Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Auburn. The celebrant will be Father Lynn Bruch. Mass servers will be Luella's great-grandchildren Tanner Bohm and Taylor Bohm. Music will be by Carmen Ludwig, St. Mary Choir, with Luella's daughter-in-law Vickie Reis and Luella's great-granddaughter Amber Brockman as soloists. Lectors will be Luella's daughter Tricia Langel and Luella's granddaughter Sonya Wilt. Gift bearers will be Luella's children Deb Ludwig, Terry Reis and Dan Reis. Eucharistic minister will be Luella's daughter Pam Deal. Honorary casket bearers will be Luella's granddaughters Robin Wood, Rachel Brockman, Ronda Bohm, Stacey Benson, Sara Crabbs, Leslie Reis, Sonya Wilt and Danielle Evans. Casket bearers will be Luella's grandsons Matt Kuker, John Kuker, Ben Langel, Bryson Langel, Scott Reis and Jason Ludwig. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery near Auburn.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March, 6, at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, where there will be a Christian wake service at 5 p.m. and rosary at 6:30 p.m.
The casket will be moved to St. Mary Church at 9:30 a.m. on Friday when visitation will resume.

Born Sept. 15, 1927, at Roselle, Iowa, Luella Margaret was a daughter of Bernard and Mary (Meier) Bluml. She spent her younger years in the Roselle area and attended Holy Angels School.
On March 5, 1946, she married LaVerdos Reis at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale. The couple farmed in the Breda and Auburn area until 1986 when they moved to their home in Auburn. Throughout her working career Luella was employed at Waters Clothing Store in Carroll, Snappy Popcorn in Breda, and also cooked at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.
Luella was a talented homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, hosting family gatherings, and always opened her home to welcome family and her many friends. In their younger years Luella and LaVerdos enjoyed dancing, bowling and fishing. Luella also enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and socializing with her family and friends. She had a deep devotion to her faith being active in St. Mary Parish, Parish Ladies Guild and Parish Funeral Committee.
Survivors include her children: Pam Deal and husband Jim of Anoka, Minn., Terry Reis and wife Joy of Lake View, Tricia Langel and husband Gene of Templeton, Dan Reis and wife Vickie of Westside, and Deb Ludwig and husband Meryl of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Elaine Schwaller of Templeton and Mary Jane Bluml of Minneapolis, Minn.; her brothers: Harold (Phyllis) Bluml of Wichita, Kan., and Felix (Kay) Bluml of Jefferson City, Mo.; her in-laws: Alma Bluml of Wall Lake, Janice Huisenga of Carroll, Illa Mae Riesberg of Halbur, Helen Reis of Coon Rapids and Louis Williams of Carroll; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LaVerdos in 2005; her grandsons Rick Reis and John Reis; her son-in-law Tom Kuker; her sister Karen Bluml; and her brothers Leonard Bluml and Norman "Jack" Bluml.
