Mary Sue Boeckman, 74, of Wall Lake, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake with burial at the Wall Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the church with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Farber and Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born March 10, 1939, at Buck Grove, Iowa, to John and Florence (Sasges) Jones. They lived in various places in Crawford County. She attended Vail Elementary School and graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in 1957. On June 1, 1959, Mary was married to Morris Boeckman at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. Four children were born to this union: Jay, James, Jane and Philip.
Mary was a stay-at-home mom and then owner of Gift Emporium in Lake View. She retired from her shop in 2001. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and antiques. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, various card clubs, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Morris; sons: James (Jennifer) Boeckman of Schleswig, Iowa, and Philip (Shannon) Boeckman of Garner, Iowa; daughter Jane (Alvin) Eldridge of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren: Cassandra (Jonathan) Pilgreen, Tiffany Seebeck, Justin (Hali) Reiter, Tyson Boeckman and fiancée LeAnn Schultz, Colton Boeckman, Ryan Rush, Colin (Megan) Rush, Jaylin Wunschel, Cory Boeckman and Noah Boeckman; 10 great-grandchildren: sister Ilene (Jerry) Leonard of Greenfield, Ind.; brother Richard (Judy) Jones of Omaha, Neb.; many extended family members and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her son Jay; parents John and Florence Jones; father and mother-in-law: Tony and Helena Boeckman; son-in-law Daniel Rush; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
