Oliver Dean McKnight, 76, of Scranton, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Regency Park in Jefferson.

Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, Scranton Church of Christ with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton.  The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday when visitation will resume.  Organist for the service will be Laura McKnight.  

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at McCoy Cemetery in Meadow Grove, Neb. Casket bearers will be Chop Gibson, Dean Gibson, Ron Wright, Stacy MacDonald, John Whitver and Dennis Hendricks. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born Jan. 2, 1936, at Meadow Grove, Neb., he was a son of Oliver Earl and Della Ruth (Swarm) McKnight. He grew up in Meadow Grove and moved to Scranton in 1991 to live with his brother Bob McKnight and his wife Laura.  Dean enjoyed watching westerns, mowing lawn, scooping snow, collecting pictures of horses, visiting with people and attending church activities.

Dean is survived by his brother Pastor Bob McKnight and his wife Laura of Scranton; two nephews, Billy McKnight and his wife Carrie of Menomonie, Wis., and Robert O. McKnight of Denver, Colo.; one niece Rebecca Plager of Cambridge, Iowa; and many good friends.
