Pat "Leon" Ray Wernimont, 75, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013.

Visitation was held at Frederick Funeral Home on Saturday Oct. 5.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, 114 East Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.

Pat was born in Carroll, Iowa, on March 17, 1938, a son of Ray E. and Kathine (Rowe) Wernimont.

Pat graduated from St. Bernard High School in Breda and Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army in the medical field and was honorably discharged Dec. 31, 1965.

After graduation from Iowa State he worked for Seagrams in Lawrenceburg, Ind. After retiring he consulted for several companies. He was a great teacher to his children and grandchildren, and did a lot of researching both in science and family history.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Carrie (Bowles) Fede Wernimont and the late Mary Beth (Quinn) Wernimont; his children Eric J. (Ferda Yantiri) Wernimont and Chistopher P. (Patricia) Wernimont; his grandchildren Deniz, Yagmur, Rachael and Nicole Wernimont; his sisters and brothers Mary Kay Uhlenkamp, Kenneth Wernimont, Joan Fritz, Marlys Steinke, Melvin Wernimont, Donita Langholdt, Diane Wernimont, Carol Rae Mennega, the late Janet Fee and Lyle Wernimont; his stepchildren Angela (Edward) Wortman, Yvonne (Timothy) Reddy, Chistopher Fede, Paul (Leah) Fede and Teresa (Alexander Doerr) Fede; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Attending the services were all of his brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
