Paul J. Jensen, 78, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Correctionville, Iowa.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sac City, Iowa. Funeral luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. at the church followed by visitation from 2-4 p.m. There will be a rosary at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake, Iowa. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Paul Jerome Jensen was born June 20, 1935, to Oluf and Margaret (Redig) Jensen in Carroll, Iowa. While growing up he lived on the family farm in Lake View, Iowa. He attended school in Lake View graduating from Lake View High School. Paul was baptized/confirmed into the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sac City.
Paul married Rose Marie Gray at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll on June 19, 1965. They were blessed with three children: David, Diane and Darlene.
Paul worked hard as a farmer to provide for his family. After farming he worked at Bowie Manufacturing in Lake City, Iowa, and American Protein Corp. in Lytton, Iowa. He had a love of antique tractors, gardening and country music. He enjoyed fishing and the companionship of his dog. Paul adored the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his children: David P. (Stephanie) Jensen of Sioux City, Iowa, Diane (Devin) Gottsch of Carroll, Iowa, and Darlene (Jeff Shedd) Brincks of Carroll, Iowa; grandchildren: Peyton and Carson Jensen, Brady, Connor, Jared and Keaton Gottsch, and Bailey, Ashley, and Ethan Brincks; sisters: Mary Becker of Lake View, Iowa, and Dorothy (Lawrence) Lanphier of Omaha, Neb.; and many extended family members and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Oluf and Margaret Jensen, brother Clarence Jensen and brother-in-law Francis Becker.
