Paul Keith Marvin Sr., 82, of Carroll, formerly of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Windsor Heights, Iowa, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his home in Carroll.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at First Presbyterian Church in Carroll. The body has been cremated and will be buried at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Carroll or St. Anthony Regional Hospice.

Paul was born March 6, 1931, in Leon, Iowa, a son of Alfred and Clara (Pickering) Marvin. Paul graduated from North High School in 1949 and served two years in the Army, stationed in Arkansas as an instructor in fire direction control. After his discharge he completed two years of studies at Drake University. On June 17, 1956, Paul married Lucille McInnes at the First Presbyterian Church in Albia, Iowa. They lived in Windsor Heights for 25 years. Paul served two four-year terms on the Windsor Heights City Council which included serving as chairman of the Metropolitan Solid Waste Agency. He was also active in the Lions Club during those years as well as serving on the Board of Trustees of Windsor Heights Presbyterian Church. Paul and Lucille served as "band parents" for the Roosevelt High School marching band.
Paul's career included work as a bank teller at Central National Bank, real estate appraiser and loan officer for Polk County Federal and eventually as manager of the loan servicing department of American Federal. In 1985, the couple moved to South Florida where he continued working in various savings and loans and finally became an independent contractor contracting to do loan review for failing savings and loans throughout the United States. He semi-retired in 1997 but continued his contracting until 2007 after moving to Carroll.
Paul and Lucille enjoyed many things together which included traveling through the country plus spontaneous little day trips. They enjoyed all the years they were together. Paul liked to golf but could also be found under the hood of a car just tinkering around. Paul was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille; his three sons, Dan and his wife Martha of Johnston, Paul Jr. and his wife Diana of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Patrick and his wife Elizabeth of Lacombe, La.; two daughters, Pamela and her husband Paul Van Baalen of Vancouver, Wash., and Penny and her husband Brian Book of Garner, Iowa; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-great-granddaughters; his brother Alfred Jr. and his wife Linda of Paradise, Calif.; a brother-in-law Charles McInnes and his wife Mary of Chesterfield, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Joseph and Nellie McInnes, his younger brother Richard and nephew Rick.
