Regina Reineke, 87, of Carroll, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.
Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Lector will be Russ Reineke. Gift bearers will be Stacy Ambrose, Sandy Bergman and Tina Mecklenburg. Music will be by pianist Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence choir. Communion ministers will be Russ Reineke, Shirley Molitor and Jean Knobbe. Casket bearers will be Matt Bergman, Rob Ambrose, Brad Mecklenburg, Gary Wittrock, Kenny Wittrock and Darrell Wittrock.
Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Friday followed by a Christian wake service at 6 p.m. Friday by St. Lawrence Parish.
The casket will be taken to St. Lawrence Church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday when visitation will resume. Online condolences may be left for Regina's family at www.sharpfuneral.com.
Regina was born Dec. 19, 1925, at Halbur, a daughter of Frank and Rosa (Drees) Wittrock.
She spent her younger years in the Halbur community and attended St. Augustine School. Following her formal education she helped families in the area and was employed in the dietary kitchen at St. Anthony Hospital. Regina and Clarence Reineke married on Nov. 25, 1947, at St. Augustine Church in Halbur.
Following their marriage the couple farmed southeast of Carroll until 1971 when they moved to their home in Carroll. Regina was a homemaker and helped Clarence with the farm chores. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and the Parish Ladies Guild. Regina enjoyed her family, playing cards, polka music, and visiting with her family and friends.
Regina is survived by her two sons, Don (Phyllis) Reineke of Corning and Leon Reineke of Creston; five granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Verna Mayer of Carroll; four brothers, Fred (Lucille) Wittrock of Audubon, Robert (Arlene) Wittrock of Mount Carmel, Harold (JoAnn) Wittrock of Templeton, and Roman (Verena) Wittrock of Carroll; and sisters-in-law, Tillie Reineke of Carroll and Marie Nieland of Storm Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Reineke, in May 1995; a son, Laverne Reineke, in 1996; a brother, Raymond Wittrock, in infancy; and two sisters, Lucina Truhe and her husband Wilbur and Elvera Daniel and her husband Andrew.
