Ronald A. Potthoff, 61, of Bennington, Neb., died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at his home from complications related to cancer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Omaha, Neb., with the Rev. Franklin Dvorak presiding.

Casket bearers are all of his brothers.

Burial will be at Flower Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roeder Mortuary in Omaha.

Ronald was born July 12, 1950, at Carroll, to Maurice and Colete Potthoff.

He attended St. Augustine Grade School in Halbur and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1968.

He attended Creighton University in Omaha, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Chi. He graduated in 1972, with a bachelor of science degree.

He married Juanita Merrigan-Potthoff on Nov. 27, 1981 in Scottsbluff, Neb.

He served in the Nebraska Army National Guard and owned and operated Potthoff Industrial Supplies.

He worked on Omaha and local Habitat for Humanity projects and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

He participated in city and church softball, golf and bowling leagues.

He is survived by his wife Juanita Merrigan-Potthoff; his son Jess and wife Rebecca of Papillion, Neb.; daughter Brady Eve Potthoff of Lincoln, Neb.; parents Maurice and Colette Potthoff; brothers Keith (Winnie) Potthoff, Randy Potthoff, Steve (Linda) Potthoff, Scott (Cathy) Potthofff, Tom (Paula) Potthoff, Larry (Ann) Potthoff, and Jeff (Michelle) Potthoff; sisters Janine (Jon) Kirk and Sue Haylor; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
