Rita McNamara, 86, of Beemer, Neb., died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.

Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wisner, Neb.

Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer was in charge of arrangements.

Rita Ann (Bruggeman) McNamara was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Templeton, Iowa, to Edward and Anna (Kawi) Bruggeman.

She attended grade school and high school at Sacred Heart in Templeton graduating in 1944. After high school, she was employed by Livestock National Bank in Omaha, Neb.

On Oct. 3, 1953, she married Frederick McNamara at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Omaha. She moved to the McNamara family farm where she and Fred farmed for many years. They moved to Beemer, and following Fred's death in 2008, she lived at Colonial Courts and Colonial Haven in Beemer. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Altar Society.

Survivors include her children, Mary Elizabeth and Tim Coyle of Omaha, Neb.; grandson Brian Timothy and wife Mandy Berlin Coyle of Lincoln, Neb.; great-grandsons Owen James and Liam Marvel; Daniel E. McNamara of Omaha, Neb.; William F. McNamara of Beemer, Neb.; Michael J. McNamara of Pullman, Wash.; brother-in-Law Donald Lueninghoener of Pilger, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Norbert Bruggeman, Walter Bruggeman and Leonard Bruggeman; sisters Helen Boehme and Dorothy Grabner.
