Roy Johnson, 90, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Lanesboro Cemetery in Lanesboro with military honors by Lake City American Legion Post 31 and VFW Post 1899.

Roy Edward Johnson was born March 24, 1923, in Audubon County, Iowa, to Carl "Frank" and Dorothea (Beier) Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army overseas two years during World War II. In 1959 he married Dorothea Bott in Indiana. Roy worked as a truck driver for 40 years with Brady Transfer before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and American Legion.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Marjorie Johnson, of Higginsville, Mo., and several nieces and nephews, including LaDonna Temple of Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothea Johnston; wife, Dorothea; brothers, Wayne "Short" and Earl Johnson; and sisters, Elaine Graham and Mary Lou Merritt.
