T.J. Pearson, 79, of Duncan, Okla., died Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home in Duncan surrounded by his family.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Lake City Cemetery in Lake City, Iowa.
Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

T.J. was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Auburn, Iowa, to Asa and Nancy (Vaughan) Pearson. He retired after 24 years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, he was a commander of the Civil Air Patrol and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. T.J. was a lay preacher for the Church of Nazarene having pastored the Comanche in Comanche, Okla., and the Church of Nazarene in Henrietta, Texas. He also was a member of the Letter Carriers Association.
T.J. and Audene Wright were married June 8, 1954, in Ryan, Okla.
Survivors include his wife Audene of the home; sons Asa C. Pearson and wife Patricia of Duncan, T.J. Pearson Jr. of Duncan, a daughter Vonda Howard and husband Jimmy of Edmond, Okla.; brother Asa B. Pearson of Mount Vernon, Wash.; sisters Alice Lindquist of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Nancy Lensing of Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
