Teresa Kasparbauer, 83, of Templeton, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton.  Celebrant will be Father Steven Brodersen.   

Music will be by Jeanne Kerkhoff and the Sacred Heart Men’s Choir.   

Lector will be Teresa’s son-in-law Tom Smith.   

Gift bearers will be Teresa’s granddaughter Jennifer Palmer and her husband Lee, and their children, Noah and Alexandria.  Eucharistic minister will be Teresa’s daughter Annette Firkus.  Honorary casket bearers will be Teresa’s granddaughters.    

Casket bearers will be Teresa’s grandsons Greg Smith, Brad Eischeid, Brian Eischeid, Craig Nielsen, Curtis Nielsen, and Teresa’s sons-in-law, Tom Smith and Rich Firkus.   

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.

Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. Friday. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. followed by a Christian wake service by Sacred Heart Parish at 6:30 p.m.  The casket will be moved to Sacred Heart Church at noon Saturday when visitation will resume.

Born June 11, 1928, at Mount Carmel, Teresa Emma was a daughter of Henry and Sophie (Odendahl) Vonnahme.  She spent her younger years in the Mount  Carmel area and attended Our Lady of Mount. Carmel School.   

On June 4, 1946, she was married to Paul A. Kasparbauer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel by Father Peter Sturm.   

Paul and Teresa made their home at the family farm near Templeton.  Teresa was a dedicated wife and mother and always put the needs of others first.  She loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and always shared the fruits of her labors with others.  She will be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness, and willingness to lend a helping hand.  Teresa was devoted to her faith and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Templeton and Parish Ladies Guild.

Survivors include her children: Teresa Smith and her husband Tom of Burlington, Wis., Marie Eischeid of Manning, Marguerite Nielsen of Carroll, Annette Firkus and her husband Rich of Stevens Point, Wis., Kathy Kasparbauer of Pueblo, Colo., Mary Smith of Emmetsburg, and Paul “Butch” Kasparbauer Jr. of Templeton; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Cecelia Vonnahme of Carroll, Delores Vonnahme of Mount Carmel, and Rita Vonnahme of Arcadia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul in August 2004; a daughter, Shirley Kerber; twin daughters in infancy, Lucy and Louise Kasparbauer; two grandchildren, Kristine Nielsen and Nicholas Smith; sons-in-law, Roger Smith and Gary Eischeid; three sisters: Margaret Wieland, Gertrude Wieland, and Rita Nepple; and six brothers: Carl, Fred, Clarence, Ferdinand, Raymond, and Erwin Vonnahme.
