WILBUR "BERT" KLOCKE
Wilbur “Bert” Klocke, 92, of Carroll died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott assisted by Deacons John Zurek, Gary Schon and Louis Meiners. Lector will be Connie Zurek. Gift bearers will be Bert’s grandchildren Jason Collison, Jeremy Collison and Amy Collison. Music will be by pianist Marcy Anderson, soloist Sherry Loughran and the St. Lawrence Choir. Communion minister will be Connie Zurek. Honorary casket bearers will be Daryl and Kris Boeckman, Dave and Linda Frank, Bob and Velma Frank, Melvin and Marcella Petersen, Otto and Hazel Rasmussen, Dallas Hanson, Gerhard and Marie Ausburn, Leo and Phyllis Steffen, Merlin Wittrock, Alfred and Velma Riesselman, Pearl Quandt, Matt Neppel, and Leo and Joleen Kasparbauer. Casket Bearers will be Wayne Bruening, Don Schon, Kurt Fox, Dale Klocke, Terry Morman, Marvin Greving and Richard Masching. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Monday followed by a Christian wake service at 6 p.m. by St. Lawrence Parish. Bert was born Nov.r 26, 1919, at Dedham, a son of Anton and Anna (Golwitzer) Klocke. He spent his younger years in the Dedham community and attended St. Joseph School. Bert and Louise Masching were married Jan. 28, 1947, at Holy Angels Church in Roselle. The couple farmed north of Dedham for one year and then farmed southwest of Dedham until 1966 when they moved to Carroll. From 1967 until 1981 Bert drove truck for Elmer Renze Trucking and from 1981 to 1990 he drove a school bus for the Carroll Community School District until his retirement. He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and the Parish Men’s Club and served his parish as an usher. Bert dearly loved his family and enjoyed gardening, lawn care, and Big Band dancing.
Bert is survived by his wife of 65 years Louise Klocke of Carroll; his daughter, Cheri Collison of Carroll; three grandchildren, Jason Collison of Adair, Jeremy Collison of Seattle, Wash., and Amy Collison of Omaha, Neb.; his brother, Ronald (Linda) Klocke of Mankato, Minn.; sisters, Lidwina Kaiser of Palentine, Ill., Dorothy (William) Schon of Glidden, and Annabelle (Jack) Fox of Templeton; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leona Klocke of Carroll, Millie Morman of Papillion, Neb., Florence Bruening of Carroll and Paul and Margie Masching of Hayfield, Minn..
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alfred Klocke, Leonard Klocke and Bernard Klocke; a sister, Loretta Greving; sisters-in-law, Theresa Klocke, Dolores Klocke, Velma Masching, and Esther Masching, in infancy; brothers-in-law, Tony Greving, Jack Kaiser, Norbert Masching, Norbert Bruening, Clarence Morman, and Leonard Masching, in infancy; and by his parents-in-law, George and Mary Masching.
