Coon Rapids-Bayard School Board members will consider the sale of the Robert Deal Elementary Building today.
Coon Rapids-Bayard School Board members today will consider the sale of the Deal Elementary Building for $6,200 to a local professional who plans to move to the city.
The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the library media center. The meeting is open to the public.
Ben Kolars, a counselor with St. Gregory Retreat Center in Bayard, said this morning he plans to purchase the Deal facility.
"Right now, I don't have anything rock solid other than to try to bring jobs into Coon Rapids," Kolars said.
Kolars and his family live in Carroll but are in the process of moving to Coon Rapids, where his wife, Alisa, is a teacher.
Kolars said he has leads on possible business opportunities that can make use of the Coon Rapids school building.
"I have a couple of ideas," Kolars said.
The district built a $3.1 million addition to the high school-middle school to replace the Robert Deal facility.
