Breda man accused of sexually abusing 5 children

A 37-year-old Breda man committed 24 sex assaults on five children younger than 12, the Carroll County attorney alleges in court documents filed last week.
Chad Thomas Daniel was arrested last month for allegedly having sex twice with a 15-year-old at his house in June.
A criminal complaint alleges that he had sex with the victim in his bedroom and the den of his house.
The Daily Times Herald does not identify victims of sexual abuse without their permission.
The sex-abuse charge swelled last week to 24 felony charges for Daniel’s alleged crimes against five children, all of whom are younger than 12, according to court records filed by County Attorney John Werden.
The records do not specifically say what Daniel is accused of doing to the children, nor do they explain the discrepancy in ages between the initial criminal complaint and Friday’s new charges.
Daniel allegedly committed six crimes each against three of the victims and three crimes each against two victims.
The timeframe for the crimes was not specified.
Daniel is being held in Carroll County Jail on $50,000 bond.
A judge has forbidden Daniel from having contact with the victims and Daniel’s spouse, court records show.
Daniel faces up to 465 years in prison if he is convicted of the crimes and a judge orders him to serve the sentences back-to-back, which is rare.
