This week’s Carroll Public Library book sale will be a fairy tale — literally.

Books offered at this week’s sale will include those in the social sciences range, which could include political science, economics, law, education — and fairy tales and folklore.

The sale will be offered from 2-7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday at the library.

The monthly sale, hosted by the Friends of the Library, supports initiatives such as the library’s summer reading programs, including the entertainers who are brought to Carroll and the prizes awarded to the readers.

The sales accompany the library’s efforts to weed out some items from its collection in preparation for its temporary move to a new location while the library building is being renovated. The sales will be held the third Thursday and Friday of each month until the library’s move in the fall.

This month’s sale also will feature books on philosophy, psychology and religion. There also will be new adult fiction and children’s books, and some DVDs on sale for $1 each and TV series for $2 each. All books cost 25 cents.

The Friends of the Library will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the library for anyone interested in attending.
