Man arrested for molesting two toddler girls

A 51-year-old Coon Rapids man allegedly molested two toddler girls in his house in January, according to the town's police chief.
Scott Allen Warnke was arrested Friday for two sex-abuse charges, each of which are punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
A relative of the girls who took them to Warnke's house in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue on Jan. 19 later saw Warnke alone with the girls - who were partially disrobed - and Warnke allegedly admitted to molesting them, according to court documents.
Warnke is held in Carroll County Jail on $500,000 bail.
Coon Rapids Police Chief Joel Roetman argued that Warnke might flee the area if he is not confined in jail with a large bail because Warnke "has stated he is leaving town and is a flight risk," Roetman wrote last week to a judge.
Roetman said today that he and two sheriff's deputies arrested Warnke on Thursday night in Scranton at the property of one of Warnke's relatives, Gary Lee Warnke, 58, who was arrested for interference with official acts "for obstructing justice in the execution of the arrest warrant."
"He concealed him and gave false information," Roetman said of Gary Warnke.
Scott Warnke is set to appear next in court on Thursday. He has asked for a court-appointed defense attorney because he has no job, according to court documents.
Warnke is not related to the girls he is accused of abusing. Roetman started his investigation into the incident a little more than a week ago when the witness reported it.
"The (method of operation) of this guy is that the general public was not ever in danger of a random sexual assault," Roetman said of the months-long delay between the alleged abuse and Warnke's arrest last week.
