Andrew Menken, 37, reached perhaps the lowest point in his life when he was accused last year of being part of a scheme to blackmail a Sac County farmer for more than $55,000. He resigned his job as juvenile court officer for Carroll County, liquidated his retirement savings and briefly contemplated suicide. But in the depths of his despair, he reached out to a local pastor who helped him rediscover his faith in God, which he discussed publicly on Sunday.
