A 44-year-old Ralston man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly holding his wife against her will in their home for more than five hours, choking her until she passed out and burning her arm with a cigarette, court records show.
Kevin T. Howe faces two misdemeanor charges for domestic abuse assault and false imprisonment.
He allegedly held his wife down, blocked a doorway, took her phone and wouldn't let her leave the rural Ralston house between midnight and 5:30 a.m. that day, the records show.
Howe allegedly put his hands around his wife's neck and choked her unconscious.
Further details about what spurred the altercation and how the woman escaped were not immediately available.
The domestic abuse charge is punishable by up to two years in prison if Howe is convicted.
