Democratic presidential candidate John Delaney, a Maryland congressman who has been running for the Oval Office in the 2020 cycle for more than a year, will campaign Sunday in Carroll and Sac counties.

Delaney will hold his 99th county tour stop in Carroll at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pizza Ranch in Carroll, 425 U.S. Highway 30 West Suite 130.

Earlier, he will hold a meet-and-greet with Sac County Democrats at noon Sunday at the Sac Community Recreation Center Conference Room, 1015 W. Main St, Sac City

Delaney is the only former CEO of a publicly traded company in the U.S. House, was named one of the World’s Greatest Leaders by Fortune Magazine in 2017 and is founder of the House Artificial Intelligence Caucus.

By the trip’s conclusion, Delaney will have campaigned in all 99 Iowa counties — the first Democratic candidate for president to complete a 99-county tour since 2008.

This is the only way I know how to do it – go everywhere, talk to everyone, put in the work and the time,” Delaney said. “We’re running an old-fashioned caucus campaign and giving the voters the respect they deserve — they want to talk to you one-on-one, hear your platform, get to know you and also make sure you know what’s important to them. They’ve already made me a better advocate for them. The truth is, when you talk to thousands of Iowans at hundreds of events, you hear a different story about the future of the Democratic Party and what the country needs than what you hear from the special interests and insiders.”
