11/27/2009 Fugitive sentenced to 25 years in prison
A Carroll County judge sentenced a fugitive to 25 years in prison Friday after revoking his probation.
Rossi Byron Lundy Jr., 28, had received a suspended 10-year prison sentence and probation in November 2006 after pleading guilty to giving marijuana to two female juveniles in March 2006. A condition of probation was that he stay at a residential facility, however, Lundy walked away in March 2007. He was arrested 26 days later.
Carroll County Attorney John Werden filed a motion for probation revocation and in August 2007 Lundy was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The sentence was suspended and Lundy, formerly of Marengo, was again given probation and ordered to stay at a residential facility. Lundy then walked away from the second residential facility.
He was arrested in Maricopa County, Ariz., on Oct. 9 for driving without a license and held on a Carroll County warrant for probation revocation. Lundy waived extradition and was brought to Carroll County earlier this month.
On Friday Judge Joel Swanson ordered that Lundy's probation be revoked and the 25-year prison sentence be imposed. Lundy was given credit for 630 days served. Swanson ordered the Sheriff's Office to transport Lundy to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale for processing into the state prison system.
