NORFOLK, NEB.



Michael Dunn, 57, of Norfolk, Neb., formerly of Breda and Carroll, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Birchwood Manor Nursing Home in North Bend, Neb.

Mass of the Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Celebrants will be Father Timothy Johnson and Father James Bruch.

Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Sunday, and there will be a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday by Holy Spirit Parish at the funeral home. The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Cemetery at Wall Lake.

Lectors for the Mass will be nieces: Amy White, Kelley Crosbie and Jessica Dunn. Gift bearers will be nieces: Jenny Masching, Beth Tigges, Anne Hayward and Mickayla Dunn. Mass server will be Miriah Masching.

Casket bearers will be nephews: Grant Hayward, Jim Dunn, Don Dunn, Joe Dunn, Johnny Dunn, Daniel Dunn and Charlie Wenck.

A son of Joseph B. and Marguerite (Downey) Dunn, he was born Oct. 6, 1951, at Carroll. He spent his younger years in the Breda, Wall Lake and Carroll communities and graduated from St. Bernard High School in Breda. He then received an associate's degree from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.

He served with the Audubon unit of the Iowa National Guard for six years. He was employed as an auto salesman in Omaha, Neb., and most recently was em-ployed at the Ramada Inn in Norfolk, Neb., until ill health forced his retirement.

Survivors include his mother, Marguerite Dunn of Johnston, formerly of Carroll; three sisters and their husbands: Pat and Steve Kunz of Ames, Mary Dunn-Hayward and her husband Jim of Urbandale, and Kathy and Mark Kubovich of Johnston; and four brothers: Tom Dunn and his wife Joan of Sheldon, Dan Dunn of Breda, John Dunn and his wife Ruth of Omaha, Neb., and Bill Dunn of Ankeny.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Dunn; and by his grandparents, Leo and Mary Dunn and Leo and Agnes Downey.
