Three of Kuemper’s four entries in the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group State Contest in Fort Dodge received I (excellent) ratings.

Groups receiving a I rating were:

One Act Play, 1-1-1 — Max Meyers, Kysa Auen, Britnee Irlbeck, Dayna Toft, Brianna Lux, Hannah Duncan, Emma Harrington, Ella Duncan, Riley Rotert and Haley Lux.

Sophomore Ensemble, 1-1-1 — Haley Lux, Matthew Borkowski, Lilianna Diehl, Rachel Mead, Keziah Janssen and Vivian Meyers.

Junior Ensemble, 1-2-1 — Emma Harrington, Lily Guinan and Riley Rotert.

Receiving a II (good) rating was:

Readers Theatre, 1-2-2 — Meagen Berger, Rheanne Feilmeier, Dayna Toft, Sarah Batz and Ceanna Light.

“We are very proud of this group,” Kuemper Speech Coach Deb Gute said. “We had a fun season. Many of the same students also do individual speech, so we look forward to great success.”

Groups that received a I rating plus nomination by at least two of the three judges in their performance center will receive all-state honor. The Speech Association will announce all-state awards following all the State performances, which this year are being presented either in-person or remotely.
