Four more Carroll County residents died after being infected by the coronavirus, local health officials reported Friday.
Three of those who died were older than 80 years, and one was between the ages of 60 and 69.
A total of 20 of the county's residents have died after contracting the virus.
There are now 1,855 total confirmed cases in the county, an increase of more than 200 in the past week. That means at least 9 out of every 100 residents in the county have been infected.
There is a significant need for people who have been infected and recovered to donate plasma to help treat people who become infected and suffer serious symptoms. The plasma is thought to have antibodies that help fight the infections.
