Health officials reported another coronavirus-related death among Carroll County residents this morning, which takes the county's total to seven.

The latest person who died was at least 80 years old, said Nicole Schwering, the county's public health director.

The total number of confirmed cases is 941, which is an increase of about 25 since Monday. At least 615 of those infected people have recovered.

The latest death comes amid a surge in cases and in the county's two-week test positivity rate, which has reached 21 percent. The spread of a virus is considered under control when that rate is less than 5 percent.

St. Anthony Regional Hospital's chief executive and chief medical officer also recently implored residents to wear masks in public.
