With COVID-19 forcing cancellation of many car shows this year, enthusiasts jumped at the opportunity to participate in the Glidden FFA Fun Day show on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The show attracted its largest-ever turnout, with 68 cars, trucks, motorcycles and golf carts entered, passing the previous record of 48 entries for the community’s sesquicentennial in 2017.
Participants came from Carroll County communities and as far as Woodbine, Webster City and Polk County.
The number of entries nearly doubled those in previous Fun Days.
The Glidden Volunteer Fire Department organized the show, Spangler Automotive provided a donation for prizes, and Fire Chief Tom Weber sponsored the trophies. Proceeds from the show go to FFA.
Entry fee for the show generated funds for Glidden-Ralston FFA Alumni’s support of the high school’s FFA chapter.
