Carroll County's infection rate keeps climbing and peaked again on Wednesday, with a total of 267 confirmed cases in the previous two weeks, according to state data.
There were a total of 992 cases for the county this morning, an increase of 78 since Monday. At least 621 of those infected people have recovered, and seven have died.
The county's two-week test positivity rate has dipped slightly this week to 19.8 percent, but it is still the third-highest in the state. The spread of a virus is considered by disease experts to be under control if that rate is less than 5 percent.
The rate of infection statewide is also steadily climbing and reached a new high on Wednesday, when there had been 13,521 new cases in the previous two weeks.
