Carroll County reported its 8th coronavirus death on Friday, which was the third death reported within a one-week span.
All three deaths were of people who were at least 80 years old, according to local health officials.
The county also has another 13 confirmed cases in the past day, which takes its total to 1,005 as of Saturday morning. At least 630 of those infected people have recovered.
Carroll County's rate of infection has reached a new peak, and it is the 8th-most infected county in the state per capita, with nearly 5 out of every 100 residents with a confirmed infection. The statewide average is about 3 of every 100 residents.
