A Carroll resident last night was injured after accidentally shooting himself in the leg.
The Carroll Police Department and Carroll County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of East 10th Street at about 6:45 Thursday evening.
They found that a man at the residence had been “manipulating” a .40-caliber handgun that discharged, shooting him in the leg, according to a police report.
The man was taken to St. Anthony Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
Carroll Police Chief Brad Burke said Friday that an investigation is pending and no charges have yet been filed. An update on the man's condition was not available.
