2 deaths, 41 Carroll coronavirus cases in past 2 days

Two more Carroll County residents have died after being infected by the new coronavirus, according to local health officials. A total of five local residents have died since the pandemic began.

Reports of the deaths this weekend were accompanied by an additional 41 confirmed coronavirus cases. The total number of cases for Carroll County is now 491. At least 223 of those infected people have recovered.

The age ranges of those who died were not immediately available.

State officials are still reporting an active outbreak at a long-term care facility for older residents in Coon Rapids, however there have not been any more confirmed cases at the facility. Twelve people were infected at Thomas Rest Haven, and none had recovered as of Sunday.
