There are two more confirmed coronavirus infections among Carroll County residents, according to local health officials.
The county's total cases is now four. Carroll had its second new case earlier this week, which was more than a month after its first.
The new cases that were confirmed in the past day include one person between the ages of 18 and 40 and one who is older than 80.
"Contact tracing has begun on both of these patients," Nicole Schwering, the county's public health director, said in an email this afternoon. "Any person who has been in contact with either patient will be contacted by Carroll County Public Health."
The number of coronavirus infections is on the rise in western Iowa, which for weeks had far fewer cases than central and eastern Iowa. All of Carroll's neighboring counties now have at least one confirmed case.
